Talk about obscure technology references! “Just Write” was Just Wrong on timing – it debuted Just As 100 word processors tried to battle it out for a saturated market. And against other upstarts including something called “Microsoft Word”. Just Write was stunning in that it ran in 128K, and most incredibly, had spell-checking that was better and faster at $115 than Multimate’s spell-checker at $599. I know, because I created the spell-checking functionality, among other parts of Just Write. Other than that, it was a fun toy, and fun to make. We knew it had no future, of course, as it was a marketing gimmick to move new customers up to high-end Multimate. Further, sales of Multimate were bottoming out and the owner was already in secret talks to flip to Ashton-Tate, but we enjoyed the adventure just the same.

Was on the phone with Verizon a few hours ago and they said there’s yet another 4g outage. Thinking about switching back to O.G. Droid for a bit. 3g not working on a 4g phone is just poor engineering.

I just noticed this and I’m not happy about it at all. It makes it seem as if we posted the advertisement since it’s attached to the post. If it was to the side of the blog I might be a tiny bit okay with it. I think this will confuse my readers and wonder why I’m sending them youtube video advertisments. I’m annoyed. Does anyone know the fee to avoid this?

Could be worse, I suppose, if the main purpose of your site was to sell Fords. A friend of mine blogs about environmental issues and is upset about having oil company ads on his page.

I also JUST discovered these on my blog. I too want them to go away. I’ve been searching all over the dashboard for how to make them disappear and found your blog in a Google search. So, we have to pay?! Blah.

Today I’m using an Android tablet and the unmarked ad is doubly deceptive — presumably detecting that my device is “mobile,” the ad server has delivered a fake “3 calls missed ” icon.

That’s ironic and dumb, since the device isn’t actually a phone!
