Hurrah! As of February 2013, this collection of archival links has been copied to the RUWhim website. See the new Whim archive page. There are more links on my “Searching the lost archives of Whim” page to find the first 17 years of Whim.
Inspired by a student’s request in January 2010, this is a missing-links page for early years of Radford University’s Whim Internet Magazine. The list and images are mostly from archive.org’s copy of a now-defunct index at the magazine’s old address, kept from 2001 to 2005.

Note to former Whim staff members and other archive-searchers: If Radford’s own servers no longer have a copy of a page, you may be able to find it at archive.org with some sleuthing. At various times, Radford’s Web server has been addressable as “www.cs.runet.edu” or “www.runet.edu” or “www.radford.edu” — and for some reason archive.org copies of the pages for a given date may show up at one version of the address, but not others. For example, compare the lists of captured pages at these addresses:
- http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.cs.runet.edu/~archive
- http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.radford.edu/~archive
The first two include the same final page from 2005, but in other years the page was captured on different dates using different addresses. Since this page is static list, there shouldn’t be much difference between versions, but — moral of the story — if you are searching for story pages, try variations on RU server addresses before giving up.
Original archive editor’s note: “Archived articles and graphics may not coordinate with the original designs and layouts.”
(Side note… or “sighed” note: For six years the intro paragraph of the archive page misspelled the word “separate,” saying archived pages would appear in a “seperate browser window.” Please abandon that tradition! While editing this page in July 2010, I was relieved to see that I’d spelled it correctly the first time, but mistakes do happen to even the best editors.)

I’m so glad you found Seasons 15-17! I have some of Season 17 on a disk but I thought the others were lost forever. I’ve been trying to track down the other Andrew Lent years plus the Cantaloupe years. The Seasons with Andrew at the helm were some of Whim’s best!
Thanks for putting this together! As a founding member of whim I was trying to show someone some work I did years ago. I really appreciate you putting these up and keeping the tradition alive.
